Supersports again had a terrific finish Submitted by spotcom on Mon, 2009-06-01 08:47. The last couple of laps in the Supersport race were phenominal. Laverty looked very comfortable at the head of the race for many laps, with the only real contention coming from Crutchlow. Things changed on the last two laps, when Sofuoglu came alive, and literally barged his way through two places to take the race. It was gripping stuff, and fantastic riding from Laverty who managed to hold second place from a very persistent Crutchlow. I also enjoyed the two Superbike races, and marvel at the package that Yamaha has this season with the new R1 and Ben Spies. Together, they were crushingly dominant in all three races (Race 1 parts A and B, and Race 2). Great stuff. Don't know what went on with Nitro Nori though... that crash in practice may have dented his confidence, or was it the physical bruising that left him lagging the leaders? Excellent racing this weekend!!!
