Check out some of the most unusual yet interesting laptop concepts that will entirely change the way you work on your portable systems, once they make real in the future.
B-Membrane laptop concept
Korean designer Won-Seok Lee has taken out monitor from the Laptop and given it some sexy-savvy revamp. The B-membrane is a user friendly computer with a membrane like key-board which appears when it is needed.
D-roll laptop
Dubbed “D-roll” or “digital roll,” the new device by Hao Hua works like a regular laptop, but rolls up to be a side bag or even a backpack for easy transportation. Designed like an artist’s tube, the D-roll Laptop features a roll up OLED screen and a slide out keyboard, together with a mouse and a detachable webcam that can be worn on your wrist when not attached to the system.
Rolltop Flexible OLED display laptop
The Rolltop from Orkin Design is a highly portable laptop that gives access to your mailbox and other digital media on the go with minimum clutter. Featuring a flexible OLED display capable of multitouch, the laptop concept also includes a detachable stand to accumulate the tablet’s stylus, power adapter and USB ports.
Samsung transparent OLED laptop
The latest laptop concept by Samsung, showcased at the CES 2010, will definitely take you by surprise with its immaculate transparency. Featuring 14-inch OLED display, which when turned off becomes up to 40 percent transparent, the laptop concept is claimed to be the world’s first and largest transparent OLED laptop.
Dual screen Moonlight Laptop
Presenting an intricate yet organic form, the “Moonlight” by designer Teo Braun is a concept laptop that might never see the light of the day, but definitely deserves your attention. Looking like a moon, the concept laptop comes with duel-curved screens; the bigger measuring 16:9 and the smaller 4:3, allowing the users maintain an ideal distance between the eyes and the laptop screen to reduce eye stress.
Victor Bivol’s laptop
Bringing portability to the work of professional designers, designer Victor Bivol has developed a laptop concept that integrating a tablet lets the professionals use a heavy graphic tablet on the go, even without disrupting their work.
Recyclable paper laptop
Industrial designer Je Sung Park has tried to solve the issues with a concept laptop that is made from recycled paper. The Recyclable Paper Laptop is to be made from recycled paper or pulp materials packed in layers.

EvoBook laptop concept
A student from the University of South Australia might have had a bad experience with the fixed keyboard of his laptop, so he came up with the EvoBook. He claims it to be the next evolution of personal computing, with a prime focus on ergonomics. His project aims to offer an ergonomic solution to the laptop computer through an adjustable screen and keyboard positioning, thereby creating a unique product identity.
Nokia’s scroll OLED laptop
Nokia’s concept laptop with a scroll type OLED makes me swoon! We all know that OLED’s offer bright and extremely colorful images. With a wide viewing angle, low power and high contrast ratio, viewing things on the laptop will certainly become more fun. Kudos to designer Rodrigo Mercado for coming up with such a fantastic concept.

After television, computers and so many other gadgets, it is time for books now to look like laptops which will have all essential features of a computer, with a fictional design from Kyle Bean. Though the percentage of people who read books is decreasing by the day, there are still men and women who believe reading a book is far better than browsing it over in the pages of websites or for that matter, even e-books.

Designer Eno Setiawan surely loves the Sony range of Vaio notebooks, which is why this Vaio Zoom notebook concept was concocted. The Zoom supposedly utilizes holographic technology that has been condensed into a thin glass form factor.

Designed by Zhang Shouze, it’s called the “Playing By Heart” laptop and has a handy kickstand that transforms into the handle for carting around.

Bang & Olufsen aluminum laptop
Commissioned by Asus, the Danish design house has come up with a trendy aluminum laptop dubbed “NX90Jq” that includes a dual touchpad, a trademark of the B&O, which lets you use both hands simultaneously and control the computer through multi-touch.
