Luca Luca Fall 2011 RTW
Creative director, Raul Melgoza, of Luca Luca showed a dramatic collection in New York yesterday. Melgoza played with color-blocking in the most vibrant colors, separates, feminine silhouettes, and texture. Sometimes the collection was a bit too dramatic but it was made up for in the beautifully simplistic and brightly colored pieces that were shown. Melgoza kept childhood trips to Yosemite in mind when designing the Fall 2011 collection. "I thought about where I go to relax, and I thought about a woman traveling through the woods. What would she wear?" Apparently that "woman" wears high heels, leathers, and furs. For the most part that woodsy look came through only in the patterns and embellishments that were shown. Here's a look!
A camel colored wool coat, red chiffon patterned blouse, and light olive high-waisted pants with a red skinny belt
A fluttery green top paired with jacquard pants and green suede booties
A fox fur jacket paired with a bright fuchsia/red top, cigarette pants, and matching booties finished off with a matching cap
Silver fox fur embellishments covered this patterned organza dress that had a leather utility belt which Melgoza explained was, "like a detachable cummerbund."
Fuchsia and black jacquard knee-length dress paired with black booties
A silver fox fur coat over fuchsia wool jersey crepe pants and patterned silk blouse that was completed with a gray skinny belt
