Alexis Mabille chose to show his Spring 2011 Couture collection in Musée Bourdelle where the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle made white plaster scale models as practice runs for his immense sculptures. It only makes sense as mirror imaging was the theme of Mabille's show. Each outfit was shown in white and then followed by a duplicate outfit that had been hand-painted in the colors of Sévres porcelain which are predominantly dark blue or turquoise but also includes rose pink, yellow and green. This gave a dark versus light effect to the show.
A gown fit for a bride
A more standout version in red
An ethereal white mini dress with a gorgeous sheer cape
Dramatized in black with floral and turquoise accents
Also perfect as a wedding dress, the whole things flows freely
In turquoise and green with rose pink flowers on the shoulder
A white gown with bow at the waist and a sheer attached cape
My favorite gown from the collection
