Everyone dreads that nasty computer virus. Many of us spending hundreds of dollars every couple of years to make sure our PCs are protected against them. If you ever used Windows, you probably have encountered problems with them at some point in time.

However Mac users usually spout "Macs never get viruses" which is a half-truth. A virus only attacks a certain operating system, so most virus makers usually make them for Windows for their near-monopoly of the computer market. However Mac sales are going up, so don't think your trendy new computer is going to be overlooked for long.

The nicname for stuffed bear toys came from our 26th president. A group of friends beat the shit out of a bear and tied it to a tree. They called Theodore Roosevelt, but Teddy refused to shoot it citing it as unsportsmanlike. He did say that someone else should put it out of it's misery. Good man.

The Wright brothers were made famous by the creation of the first real modern plane.

However their day job was that of a bike shop where they sold or repaired bikes.

Most people remember Bob Barker as the infamous host of The Price is Right. Despite popular belief, he is not the show's original host.

The show was originally on NBC during the 50's. A bit of a different format, but still the same concept.

The original host was Bill Cullen.

In Japan, their baseball teams have cheerleaders! We just have dudes filled with steroids, and fans with beer hats.

How did the Japanese own the Mariners you ask?

Because Nintendo bought out their share of the team, and are their official owners.

Kim Jong-il's dad was even more loved than he was by the media of North Korea. He is known as the country's Eternal President, and when he died thousands of people mourned for days. Even today (outside visitors included) that you still have to pay extreme respect to his memory while in the country.

The West knew him as Hirohito, but that was his personal name. His official title is Emperor Shōwa, all Emperors in Japan are given titles after their death.

We generally think contacts to be made at least within the past 100 years. However Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the first people credited with coming up with the idea for contact lenses.

Though it did take about 300 years after the idea for the actual product to be made and worn by a real person.

Kim Jong-il was born in the Soviet Union while his dad commanded an Soviet group of Korean, and Chinese exiles. However his birth record in North Korea says he's one year younger than he really is. They made up a story that his birth was foretold by a swallow, and he was born on Baekdu Mountain during Japanese rule of Korea. They also say the mountain had a double rainbow and a new star in the heavens.

BULLSHIT!

The human brain does not feel pain. Headaches are just the nerves and tissue around your skull. I assume "brain freeze" is really the back part of your throat going through pain.

The Electric Chair was the idea of Dr. Alfred P. Southwick who saw a intoxicated man die quickly after touching a live generator. The reason why he chose a chair was because he was a dentist and was used to working with chairs. He saw the electric chair as a more humane form of execution than hanging.

Sharks rarely kill more than 10 people each year on the entire span of the earth. In contrast we kill sharks (mostly for fin soup and other dishes) in the millions each year. We are the most dangerous animal on earth.

Despite the fact that we won most of the wars we fought, we pulled out of Vietnam and the North Vietnamese took over the South.
