The British Fashion Council announced that Erdem Moralioglu is the winner of the first BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Award. The award is a $301,000 prize and access to fashion mentors across the industry. Moralioglu is thrilled about the prize as he currently only has a team of four people and two freelancers and the orders have been flooding in since his Spring/Summer 2010 show. The half-British, half-Turkish designer describes his clothes from a narrative. "I see each season, each show, as a new chapter in the same book of her life," he says. "It's a narrative, things happen to her, but the core girl is still the same. She's a girl who is colourful and sweet, elegant and hopefully effortless."

With utilitarian designs and sporty looks being so big, parkas have begun to crawl of the woodwork. It is a perfect springtime coat that is comfy cozy, prevents the rain, is versatile (wear it with jeans or a casual dress) and makes you look oh so stylish.

As all of us Fashionistas know, military has been a popular trend. So of course, camo print clothing seems perfect as our next trend to rock.

The first person to put camouflage gear on his runway was none other than designer John Galliano about a decade ago. The idea of military style however made a comeback about two years ago and is still in designers minds as a trend that consumers favor. Even for men, designer houses such as Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gareth Pugh were seen dishing out military-inspired menswear.
Have fun with this trend but DON'T overdo it!
