Hair

The main hairstylist on set for Sex and the City 2 was Frank Barbosa, who said he was inspired by old black-and-white films for the looks.  The main look for all of the characters was loose, free-flowing waves (especially for Carrie!).  To get the look he used 1/4-1/2 inch curling irons, a Sultra flatiron,  René Furterer Spray Gloss, and Ojon Extreme Hold Hairspray and told the stars to only wash their hair every few days.

Makeup

Carrie
Makeup artist, Judy Chin, created Carrie's look by using neutral colors and minimal makeup (not matte-like, but with more of a glow, hint: use blush) on the face and then glammed up the eyes.  Chin used smoky and sparkly eyeshadows and lots of black mascara.
Click here to see Judy Chin talk about what products she used and what her inspiration for the movie was.

Samantha
Kyra Panchenko, was the makeup artist for Kim Cattrall and got her inspiration from Blondie, Kate Moss, and Madonna.  She gave Samantha a light and dewy look and used individual eyelashes to make her eyes stand out.

Charlotte
Charlotte York look was as always, very minimal with blush, curled lashes, black eyeline and a tint of pink on the lips.

Miranda
Miranda kept her skin pale and fresh looking, but had rosy cheeks, nude/light pink lips and black eyeliner on top and the bottom (sometimes she used light green eyeshadow) with minimal mascara.

A trend to try is celestial jewelry, anything with the sun, moon, or stars on it.  Celestial jewelry has not become a trend yet, but it is on its way, as recent celebrities have been seen wearing it.  Giorgio Armani also found inspiration from the moon for his 2010 Spring collection, Armani Privé.
The special thing about celestial jewelry is the symbolism the objects hold.  The moon is something that illuminates our intuitions, the sun represents the celestial king who brings warmth to our lives, and the stars which tell us to reach upward.

Instead of wearing bandage mini dresses and pushup bras this year, the sexiest way to show some skin is the cut out dress.  If you pick the right style you will look classy and trendy and picking the right style is pertinent.  You do not want something to cutout because it will look trashy and you do not want cutouts in places that are just too revealing.  Cutouts on the shoulders, hips, arms, and back are the sexiest and classiest places to have them.

Here are some examples from Spring 2010 runway show
